Colorful autumn is accompanied by a colorful psyche

Autumn is here. The world around us and within us is changing. Nature is coloring itself in warm tones, the days are getting shorter, and it's time for teas, blankets, and the scent of cinnamon. Along with nature, our psyche also transforms – the rhythm of the day, moods, and energy change. The change of season can be challenging for many of us, so we bring you some tips on how to better attune yourself to autumn.

Regular sleep schedule

Sleep is one of the main pillars of a sustainable lifestyle. It helps the body regenerate, improves digestion and concentration, and benefits the mind. Get as much of it as you can, whenever possible.
Tip: Don't look at screens for at least an hour before bed. Displays disrupt the production of melatonin, which helps the body fall asleep. On the other hand, reading relaxing literature helps.

Balanced hot meal

It's time to put away the light summer meals and give your body the nourishment it needs during this season. Our bodies operate in rhythm with the seasons. In summer, they crave more hydration, while in autumn, they desire warmth and calm. Reach for broths, roasted vegetables, or legumes. And even though we have everything in stores year-round, seasonal foods like carrots, sweet potatoes, or horseradish offer much more than chemically treated strawberries in October.

Cultivate light around you and within you

The sun doesn't shine as strongly anymore, and even that can affect our mood. We draw not only vitamin D from light, but also psychological well-being. Therefore, take advantage of every moment you can be outdoors. Go for a walk, treat yourself to a moment in the light, or work by a window.
You can also awaken the light within yourself through creation. Crochet, paint, write – anything that brings you joy and meaning. It's not about perfection, but about the process. Creation heals.

Snuggle up in a blanket and don't blame yourself for anything

Sometimes we just need to switch off. Snuggle up in bed, put on your favorite show, and disconnect from the world for a while. That's a form of regeneration too. During challenging times, there's nothing wrong with stopping and doing nothing at all. Your body and mind will rest and gain a new perspective on things that previously seemed insurmountable.

Autumn doesn't have to be just melancholic. A little care for body and soul is all it takes, and it can become a time of peace and inspiration. And if you feel like it's all too much, reach out to our organization. Don't put out – we are happy to direct you to the right help.

We wish you peaceful and beautiful autumn days.
